Presentations – Friday (Evening), October 25, 2024
Ag Rescue Training presentations will take place on Friday, October 25th from 5:45-9:30 PM at the Robert Froehlke Conference Center (see “Location Info” tab, below). Presentations can be attended either in-person or virtually. To attend virtually, you can join via a link to be provided closer to the date of the training.
Copies of the presentations will be available in the ART binders for in-person attendees. Digital presentations (slides) will be linked below for virtual attendees by 5PM on the 25th.

Workshops – Saturday, October 26, 2024
Equipment
Extrication
Principles of machinery extrication will be discussed as well as hands on incident size-up, extrication and patient handling will be performed in this workshop.
Tractor Rollover
More common tractor overturns and discussion of stabilization techniques as well as emergency medical concerns with hands on experience will be showcased in this workshop.
Confined Spaces on the Farm
This workshop will involve an identification of various confined spaces on the farm and a presentation of what is needed successfully perform a confined space rescue. Participants will gain hands-on experience practicing a confined space rescue.
***We recommend that you bring one SCBA and one spare tank per participant in the confined space workshop.***
Grain Bin Rescue
Grain bins have their own unique hazards. Utilizing safety equipment, this workshop will be an on scene presentation of the needs to perform a safe rescue from a grain bin.
Large Animal
Technical Rescue
This workshop will give participants multiple skills and techniques to safely contain, approach and manipulate recumbent large animals in emergency situations. Safe working zones, equipment options, proper strap placement and manipulation techniques will be considered and practiced on articulated one thousand pound training mannequins. This workshop delivers the foundational techniques to manage animals in more complicated situations.

Friday’s lecture session will be conducted in-person at the Robert Froehlke Conference Center, located in the Melvin R. Laird Center of the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute in Marshfield, WI. Virtual attendance is also an option. A virtual link will be sent to all registered participants via email within two weeks of the training.

CEUs – Ag Rescue Training Event
Certificates validating 9.5 hours of CEUs upon completion, pre/post test, and evaluation of the program will be awarded.
How to Dress – Ag Rescue Training Event
Participants are encouraged to dress in anticipation for an active day. Appropriate PPE includes full turnout gear, or extrication gear including boots/safety shoes, gloves, helmets and eye protection. No SCBA required. Each course enrollee is responsible for providing these items. As workshops are held outdoors, be prepared in case of inclement weather.

Supported by the Mike Biadasz Farm Safety and Education Memorial Fund, the Agriculture Rescue Training program will provide your department with a FREE four gas monitor when you bring three department members of their department to the Agriculture Rescue Training event.
