Infectious Disease Doctor Speaks on Farm Injury Infection Case Study

Here is the recording of the January Marshfield Clinic Health System Trauma Webinar. We had the pleasure of hearing from Dr. Thomas Boyce with a discussion on farm related injuries and infection. The talk focused on a case study of a 9-year-old boy who passed away due to complications from a disc cultivator injury. Notably, Dr. Boyce discussed the infectious qualities of the soil-dwelling bacteria Clostridium sordellii, which was involved in the case. The case-fatality rate for Clostridum sordellii is 70%.
