911 Posters

Better information during an initial 911 call can improve the emergency response outcome. Emergency incidents on farms and ranches can be uniquely difficult to convey to dispatch, and this is especially true for instances involving language barriers, a lack familiarity with the farm, complicated farm layouts, or non-standard road access. To better assist farmers, farm families, farm workers, and others who may come upon an agricultural incident, we have designed these 911 call script posters. The posters help people prepare for when they may need to call 911 and provide tips for use during an actual 911 call. There is also room for adding farm details. Every farm is different, but their ability to call for help should the same and of the highest standard!

Manure Gas Stickers

Manure gases create some of the most hazardous environments on agricultural operations. As manure management becomes an important part of more agricultural operations, preventing manure gas incidents is increasingly important. With the support of the Mike Biadasz Farm Safety Memorial Fund, the National Farm Medicine Center has provided four-gas monitors to fire departments for the past 4 years with the ask that they be made available to neighboring farms when requested. To help raise awareness about the potential dangers of manure gas and build relationships with farm communities, we invite you to distribute these new stickers to farms in your area, one of which has a write-in space for your department’s non-emergency line. Be the reason someone calls for assistance BEFORE a manure gas incident!
